Such is the increasing popularity of our monthly road ride, we have extended this to become a weekly ride each sunday starting at 8:30 from the shop.

So, distances will vary but from 40 miles upwards - anything huge will be announced on here beforehand.

As usual all rides will feature a cafe stop, running at a reasonable pace of 15-18mph average.

Not sure? - just call us on 01904 472510.

All welcome…. see you on sunday?

#SingleAction announce new bike park in #York! Get involved!

    Rawcliffe Mountain Bike Park

Singletraction is very pleased to announce its involvement in a brand new MTB development in York.

The City of York Council has commissioned a design of a three phase bike park based at the Rawcliffe Country Park, just next to the Park & Ride station.  Phase one is to be funded by Big Lottery and will focus on providing a facility for children and young people, with phases two (for more experienced riders) and three (a multi user track)  to follow when funding had been secured. It is currently in the design stages, with Dinsdale Moorland Services Limited doing the course layout, and work will hopefully begin in the springtime, subject to planning permission being granted by this time.

Part of the tender requirements state that volunteers are to be involved in the construction, maintenance and ongoing development of the park.  This means whoever is doing the building will be looking for local support and input, both with planning and building.  This begins with a consultation event at Rawcliffe Country Park Ranger’s office on 3rd March between 1800 and 2000.  All are welcome, especially any input from younger riders but please let Liz Burkinshaw (Liz.Burkinshaw@york.gov.uk) know if you are planning to attend.

Between now and when the first shovel hits the ground, we need to build up local interest to gauge what sort of response can be expected when construction begins.

More news will be posted on www.singletraction.co.uk as and when it develops, but in the meantime, if you live in the York area, here is a great opportunity to get involved with what promises to be an exciting new venture.

To register interest, and to receive future updates on this project, please email Ian at iansikora@singletraction.co.uk
